“This is one of those stays where one feels to have stayed with a family rather than at an accommodation. All aspects of this stay were perfect. Homestay is located next to a lake that inhabits lot of birds, it’s a great treat to sit around let the nature soak in. The room was very nice, well equipped satisfying European travelers needs. Now the first best part, breakfast and dinner, the family served us homemade food everyday and it was delightful and we were detailed explained on each culinary served…Finally the hospitality is just incredible. “We showed up at the villa with no reservation. But this was no problem. In a matter of minutes we had our room. The room was clean and the shower was the best one I’ve had in Sri Lanka. In the evening we enjoyed a very delicious dinner and in the morning a good breakfast.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. He checked if we were okay and if we wanted something to drink.

If you’re in the area, you should stay here! The lake is very peacefull and there are a lot of birds in the area. You can even do the birdwatching excursion at the lagoon.

Kalametiya Vehera Navaya Color wash – CSR project

The Kalametiya birding community and travelers have witnessed the revitalization of the historic Vehera Navaya stupa, thanks to a group of young volunteers led by the son-in-law of the Grand Villa Kalametiya owner. With support from the villagers and financial backing, the team successfully repainted the stupa, restoring it to its former glory.
