“This is one of those stays where one feels to have stayed with a family rather than at an accomodation. All aspects of this stay were perfect. Homestay is located next to a lake that inhabits lot of birds, it’s a great treat to sit around let the nature soak in. The room was very nice, well equipped satisfying European travellers needs. Now the first best part, breakfast and dinner, the family served us homemade food everyday and it was delightful and we were detailedly explained on each cullinary served…Finally the hospitality is just incredible. We were well looked after, given wonderful tips to see around .. there were bicycles to rent that made the travel around very easier …

“We showed up at the villa with no reservation. But this was no problem. In a matter of minutes we had our room. The room was clean and the shower was the best one i’ve had in Sri Lanka. In the evening we enjoyed a very delicious dinner and in the morning a good breakfast.
The staff was super friendly and helpfull. He checked if we were okay and if we wanted something to drink.
If you’re in the area, you should stay here! The lake is very peacefull and there are a lot of birds in the area. You can even do the birdwatching excursion at the lagoon.

“I stayed at Grand Villa Kalamatiya only for a single night during a business visit to Ambalantota, but I was overwhelmed by the hospitality that was offered by the owner and by the natural beauty that surrounds the place. We were offered a very reasonable price for the stay with a value for money service. Breakfast was home-cooked and super delicious. During our short stay, we were able to have a wonderful nature-loving experience as if we were in the middle of a bird sanctuary.
